Scones



                                             


 

 

Scones are a delicious tea time snack. You can have them with some jam, butter, whipped cream or lemon glaze.

 

INGREDIENTS:

1.   Flour    (2 cups)

2.   Cold butter (As cold as possible)    (1/4 cup)

3.   Baking soda    (1.5 teaspoon)

4.   Vanilla essence    (4 drops)

5.   Salt    (½ teaspoon)

6.   Lemon juice (1 teaspoon)

7.   Milk    (1 cup)

8.   Nuts {Optional}    (1/4 cup)

 

PROCEDURE:

1.   Add in the flour and baking soda. Then just give it a light stir.

2.   Then we need to add the wet ingredients and in the end salt.

3.   After that the mixture should be a more thicker than a batter of a cake.

4.   Then preheat the oven at 180 C. Put a blob of batter as big as a cupcake on the baking sheet and the baking sheet on the tray and in the oven for 15-20 mins.

5.   Then take it out of the oven and put it on the cooling rack.

 

 

 

Lemon glaze:

 

Ingredients:

 

1.Lemon juice (1/2 tablespoons)

2.Milk (2 tablespoons)

3.Confectionary sugar (1 cup [sieved])

 

 

Procedure:

 

1.Add all the ingredients and mix well. Just brush this on the top of the scones.
